Johan August Ekman (26 November 1845, Hjälstad - 1913) was Archbishop of Uppsala, Sweden, 1900-1913. He was a student at the University of Uppsala, and was ordained priest in that city 1873. Thereafter he worked as a vicar and held other church offices in Uppsala. He was married in 1882, elected professor of theology 1897 and bishop of Västerås in 1898; and entrusted with the post of archbishop in 1900. He was known as a representative for a more modern Swedish Church.
